 | | SuperFit Kids are healthy, happy, active kids! Too many kids and adults are just not active enough, and that can make us even more heavy and slow. Ian's Natural Foods knows that kids must carefully choose healthful foods, like Ian's, and eat reasonable amounts depending upon their individual level of activity. In this way, SuperFit Kids keep their bodies strong and flexible. We want you to eat right, and enjoy plenty of physical activity, so Ian's has teamed up with paper folding designers at Origamido Studio, to promote origami fun that will help keep your mind and body SuperFit! | | Super Flying Otter Airplane Paper airplanes are fun to fold, and fun to fly. Origamido designer, Michael G. LaFosse began designing his own paper airplanes when he was only seven! Just as adults who travel by plane for their jobs earn "air miles" points, you can earn SuperFit Kids fitness points by folding, tossing, and running after our Super Flying Otter Airplane. If you follow the directions and fold this project, you will see Andy the Otter at the controls of this sleek design! Make them from different sizes. Throw the whole stack as high as you can, then watch how the Super Flyers separate and glide in different directions. Mark the one that glides the farthest. See how it performs when you change the order of the stack. How does its position in the stack affect its performance? Do some other experiments and enjoy this design! Here's an origami project you can use when you join Ian's SuperFit Book Club. If you fold Ian's Super Friend Bookmark properly, the arrow will help you remember where you left off when you stopped reading. This bookmark will fit on any of the corners, and unlike other bookmarks, will not stick up to hit the bookshelf when you put the book away. For the most benefit from your Super Friend Bookmark, read about the outdoors, or famous active people: athletes and sports stars, explorers, or travelers. Favorite books will become good friends that will last throughout your whole life. Every so often, perhaps every hour, put the book down (using your Super Friend Bookmark), and just take a break. Take a walk with a friend, discussing what you have both just read. At the end of your book, you can transform the Super Friend Bookmark into our Super Flyer -- a stackable, flying glider -- with only three additional folds! Write the name of the book you read on the glider, and it will be a good friend too. One person crouches down and ducks their head, while another kid behind them jumps over them like a frog! When three or more play this game, it is a unique way to get around the neighborhood, and it burns a lot of energy! If there is a person behind you, wait until that person leaps over you, and the others in line in front of you. When they are finished, they crouch down. When you are the last in line, you begin leaping over the people, one-at-a-time, in front of you, then crouch down at the head of the line. If somebody has a stopwatch, see how long it takes for each person to "leap the line". The winner does it the fastest! Safety Note: Never fly your origami projects into a street. If it goes there, do NOT run after it. Keep your airplane out of trees, and never point or throw it at people, pets, or cars. Respect for Others: Misplaced paper airplanes can become bothersome litter. Always watch to see where your airplane goes, then retrieve it safely. Respect others' private property by staying away. Be sure to ask permission before you go into other people's yards. It is great to have fun, but be sure not to make too much noise. Imagine that behind every window, there is somebody trying to read. Someday you might appreciate your friends' consideration when you are quietly reading while they are playing outside.
